Cookie Policy

This page lists every cookie this site can set, what each one is for, and how to refuse them. Last updated 15 Oct 2026.

The one cookie we always set

ox_consent records whether you accepted or rejected analytics, so the banner does not ask you again on every page. It contains no identifier, it is not shared with anyone, and it is not used for anything else. It is strictly necessary to remember your choice, so it is set regardless of what you choose.

Analytics cookies, only if you accept

If you select Accept analytics, Google Analytics sets cookies that let visits be recognised across sessions, so we can see which parts of the page are used. Nothing is loaded and no request is made to Google until you accept.

If you select Reject analytics, no analytics cookie is set and nothing is measured. The site works exactly the same way.

The individual cookie names and lifetimes are set by Google and change from time to time, so they are not listed here. See the provider’s own documentation for the current set.

What we do not use

  • No advertising or profiling cookies.
  • No social media pixels.
  • No cross-site tracking, and no data sold to anyone.

How to change or withdraw your choice

Clear the ox_consent cookie for this site in your browser settings. The banner returns on your next visit and analytics stops immediately. You can also block the analytics request in your browser or with an extension, which does not affect anything else on the site.

Legal basis

Analytics cookies are set on the basis of your consent, which is collected through the banner. The consent cookie itself is set on the basis of a legitimate interest in remembering your choice, or as strictly necessary, depending on how the exemption is read. This page states the position under UK PECR, which is the regime that applies to this site.

Written from the code

Every cookie named on this page is one this site can actually set, taken from the consent module and the analytics component rather than from a template. The cookie name in the first section is imported from the code that writes it, so this page cannot drift from what the site does.
